Reenvolver Internship Sao Paulo
The Reenvolver laboratory is the place where traditional and contemporary technologies meet to ferment ideas that support sociobiodiversity.
During my internship at Reenvolver São Paulo, it became clear to me that I wouldn’t lose contact with them after my internship ended. About six months after my internship, they mentioned that no real innovation had taken place and that they felt my absence. With an eye on the future and a potential project that I might manage for them, we decided to meet online once a month. This way, I can provide them with new innovative ideas, and they can give me feedback on the projects I’m working on here. We help each other in this way, and I find that these conversations really energize me.
Currently, they are working for a hotel that wants to create its own product line using local ingredients. They hadn’t progressed beyond the idea of making sweets, but due to my knowledge of the Dutch market, I was able to inspire them with a concept similar to what Pineut does here in the Netherlands. The idea is to dry local ingredients and sell them in bottles so that people can add alcohol themselves to make a liqueur, allowing them to enjoy the ingredients from their destination at home as well. They had never heard of this because it doesn’t exist in Brazil. This doesn’t mean they will necessarily implement it, but the fact that they have been inspired with a new idea beyond just sweets helps prevent them from getting stuck creatively.
